ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Courtney LeBaron is an artist living and working in Edmonton, Alberta. With a 14-year background in Interior Design the overlap between the built environment and the power of original artwork has grown into something of an obsession. Courtney believes art contributes to the rich fabric of our collective human experience: it’s tactile, meaningful, and aesthetic. Artwork breathes life into our physical spaces.

Courtney’s artwork has been exhibited in the Franz Dopf Gallery in Calgary, Alberta and is collected internationally. She’s helped enhance and personalize both homes and businesses with custom commissions. Some commercial clients Courtney LeBaron has worked with include Teknion, the Grey Nuns Community Hospital, and Melcor Developments.

ARTIST STATEMENT

Courtney paints urban and natural landscapes with fresh intuition, balancing abstraction and representation. She embraces bold risks to maintain a sense of energy and movement in her work. The landscape serves as a foundation, but rather than focusing on intricate details, she distills each scene into essential, structural forms using intuitive color choices. By stripping away the realism, the essence begins to surface.
