Vanessa Corrigall is an Alberta-based contemporary artist known for her serene underwater swimmer paintings. A lifelong lane swimmer, she draws on the meditative qualities of water to create acrylic works that evoke calm, reflection, and quiet beauty. Holding degrees in Fine Arts and Education, she combines strong technical skill with a deep understanding of emotional resonance in art. Her work is collected for its ability to transform spaces into tranquil retreats, and a portion of each sale supports the Canadian Mental Health Association.

ARTIST STATEMENT

It all begins underwater—where light bends, time slows, and gravity releases. For me, swimming is meditation: a ritual of strength and surrender. My layered acrylic paintings capture these fleeting moments beneath the surface—sunlight on skin, reflections shimmering, edges blurring between real and imagined. Through light and color, I explore calm, clarity, and transformation, creating works that invite viewers to pause, breathe, and return to the serenity of water.
